Description

Our natural juniper needle hydrolate for pharmaceuticals originates from a plant with the botanical name Juniperus communis. The distillate bears the name Juniper Needle natural hydrolate for pharmaceuticals. The species belongs to the family Cupressaceae. The needles serve as raw material; in this species they do not change their form and are arranged in dense whorls along the young twigs. The plantations in Bulgaria are managed according to natural rules that exclude synthetic agents. The purity of the aroma depends on steam distillation, because solvents are kept out and the volatile fraction comes solely from the original needle raw material of the plant. The aqueous phase takes up the oxygenated volatile compounds and therefore carries a clearly defined scent. The aroma manifests itself at a medium level. Piney freshness combines with a resinous tone in the overall aromatic profile. In the needle oil, monoterpene hydrocarbons come first, with pinene and sabinene leading among them. The product is a clear liquid with a color that starts at colorless and ends at pale yellow. On the upper side of the needle, a grayish waxy bloom is visible on the stomatal band. The needle raw material underlies the faint color, since the water carries away mainly colorless substances, while the colored parts are retained in the plant. The composition remains entirely natural and allows no preservative or coloring additives. In addition, the natural cultivation rules and the raw material limited to the needles build a composition in which plant volatile substances and water take part. The medium level of the aroma, the clear liquid and the faint color complete the picture of juniper needle hydrolate.
